Monolith Investments is
an infrastructure and macro investor

Artificial intelligence is discussed as software. It arrives as concrete, copper, turbines, and land — a capital cycle with a physical bill, paid years before the returns are legible.

That bill is the part markets price worst. Software scales without asking permission. Infrastructure asks permission from utilities, regulators, supply chains, and whoever already owns the site. The binding constraint is not intelligence but interconnection, and constraints of that kind resolve on schedules that quarterly attention spans do not reward.

Which makes this a macro question rather than only a sector one. A buildout of this size has to be financed, and financing is a story about rates, currencies, and sovereign appetite. Power is a commodity story. Fabrication capacity is a geopolitical one. We carry a discretionary macro book alongside the portfolio because the infrastructure position is, in the end, a wager on how those forces settle.

So we hold concentrated positions across the physical and financial layers of the buildout, sized by conviction rather than spread thin for its own sake. Concentration is only defensible with real understanding, which is why we build our own research and execution stack instead of renting one. It is the same discipline we underwrite, turned on ourselves: operating inside a buildout is the cheapest way to learn where its constraints actually bind.

We are long-term oriented, patient with capital cycles that resolve slowly, and alert to the difference between a thesis being right and being right on time. Headquartered in San Francisco, Monolith1 is built as one integrated system, owned end to end.

We’re a small team with a singular focus. We research the AI buildout from the ground up — the power, the silicon, the balance sheets financing all of it — and we build the research and execution stack we use to do that work. If you want deep ownership over both the analysis and the systems that carry it into positions, join us.
